For Your Kingdom’s Cause

I have sometimes let the thought cross my mind, “Is my work really making a difference for the Kingdom?”

In a world that desires rapid results, and rising profits, it’s easy to question whether faithfulness in small things is truly enough.

During our 24 Hours of prayer, one specific line kept sticking with me “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matt. 6:10)

That prayer isn’t just a line for Sundays, it’s a vision for every day. It invites us to live as people of another Kingdom, one where success is measured not by profit, power, or platform, but by obedience, humility, and love.

No matter the season that you are currently in, if you are making strategic decisions, managing a team, solo-entrepreneuring, or simply showing up with integrity, we are part of something eternal. The work of the Kingdom is not always glamorous, but it is always holy.

As businesspeople, we’re often tempted to build our kingdoms. But Jesus calls us to seek His. To say, as the song '‘Hosanna’ declares: “Everything I am for Your Kingdom’s cause.”

That means releasing control. Choosing obedience when no one is watching. Pursuing excellence not for applause, but because it honours the King.

So today, pause and ask:
Am I building my own empire, or am I yielding to God’s eternal Kingdom?
Am I striving for gain, or investing in what lasts forever?
