The Work of Our Hands: A Harvest Thanksgiving for Bangor Business

Harvest is time to give thanks not only for crops gathered in, but for contracts won, businesses grown, jobs created, exams passed, skills learned, projects completed, ideas realised, music made, creativity expressed, and communities served. The North Down Hub of the Genesis Network is putting on a prayer breakfast to take some time to thank the God who gives us the ability to do these things.
17 You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.
Deuteronomy 8:17-18
The Genesis Network is a network of marketplace leaders from across the country, built on the foundations of CBMC Belfast, a Christian Business organisation that has been active in the local business community since the late 1950s. The CBMC organisation was Belfast Centric, however, it is now setting up regional hubs in key cities to encourage Christian businesses to support and pray for each other and the local community. Within the Genesis Network are large business owners employing 100s of employees through to self-employed consultants with social entrepreneurs, marketers, and everything else in between. Manufacturing, wellbeing, consultancy and hospitality are represented in the North Down Hub along with many other sectors.
The event on Friday the 9th of October will feature a speaker looking at reasons to be thankful in North Down in 2026 as well as a number of people giving thanks for our Civic Leadership; our Council Officers and Staff; Education, Skills & Young People; Development, Construction & Regeneration; Business, Professional Services & Enterprise; High Street, Hospitality & Retail; Manufacturing, Engineering & Industry; Culture, Creativity & The Arts; Community, Voluntary & Caring Sectors.
